Agricultural Products Safety Inspection

What is safety inspection?
Safety inspection is a system aimed at protecting both producers and consumers. Under the system, agricultural products are tested for harmful substances such as pesticides and heavy metal residues, not only on farms but also during the production, storage, distribution and sales stages. For those products containing such substances beyond the maximum residue limits (MRL), measures (disposal, alternative usage, shipment suspension, etc.) are taken to prevent the distribution of those unqualified products in the market.

  • NAQS conducts over 60,000 safety inspections per year on over 200 agricultural items to prevent the distribution of unqualified agricultural products that may threaten the health of citizens.
  • NAQS analyzes the harmful substances (agrochemicals, heavy metals, etc.) in agricultural products during the production, storage, distribution and sale stages, and takes necessary measures (disposal, alternative application, shipment suspension, etc.) for the unqualified agricultural products containing harmful substances beyond maximum residue limits (MRL).
